Sixto G. Reyes, 68 of Las Cruces, NM died Wednesday August 16, 2006. He was born March 28, 1938 in Picacho, NM to Manuel and Erminda Reyes. He served his country in the United States Army for over twenty-five years, where he was a Paratrooper and a Special Forces Green Beret. He retired as Sergeant First Class, joined the New Mexico National Guard, and was also a member of the Las Cruces Police Force. He was a kind and giving man, and those that he considered a friend knew the true meaning of friendship. He was most proud of his grandchildren and the time he spent with Jerica and Michael will truly be missed. He had an undying love for his Country. He is survived by three daughters, Becca Reyes of Las Cruces, NM; Bobbie Archuleta and husband John of Citrus Heights, CA; and Rosemary Atchison of Las Cruces, NM. Sixto is also survived by his four sisters, Cecilia Torres, Leonore Montoya, Ofelia Marfil, and Carmen Barceleau, and sister in-law Bessie Reyes and eight grandchildren Jerica, Michael, Mark, Jason, Sarah, Clarissa, James and Phillip. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 10 AM Saturday August 19, 2006 at the Hillcrest Garden of Memories Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
