Stella Aragon, 69 of Las Cruces, NM died Monday, June 29, 2009 at Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada. She was born April 1, 1940 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Jose and Vicenta Maciel. Stella Aragon, 69 of Las Cruces, NM died Monday, June 29, 2009 at Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada. She was born April 1, 1940 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Jose and Vicenta Maciel. Stella was a resident of Las Cruces since 2000 coming from California and was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband Norberto of Las Cruces; two daughters, Patricia Carpenter and husband Robert of Las Cruces, NM; and Elizabeth Kotiaho and husband Markku of Longmont, Colorado. One sister, Lilli Walsh of Alaska and one brother, Michael Maciel of Bryant, Texas. Also surviving Stella are six grandchildren, Kristin Carpenter and husband Karl Borgeson; Victoria Carpenter; Julianna, Ethan, Gabby and Emma Kotiaho. At Stella's request, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Mesilla Valley Hospice Chapel.
