Stewart A. Lurtz, 73, of Las Cruces, NM, joined our Heavenly Father Wednesday, 13 June, 2012. Stu was a beloved and devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Stewart A. Lurtz, 73, of Las Cruces, NM, joined our Heavenly Father Wednesday, 13 June, 2012. Stu was a beloved and devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Stu is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Stiebel) Lurtz, his children: Theresa Crotty, Sharon Gain (Thomas), Michael Lurtz (Kimberley), Monica Lurtz, and Mark Lurtz (Kelly); his grandchildren: Courtney, Thomas and Andrew Crotty, Dalton Gain, Alyssa, Ryan and Eric Lurtz, and Aidan and Cuinn Lurtz; his sister Louise Orator; and many other relatives and friends who loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Thelma (Smith) Lurtz, two sisters and two brothers. Stu will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, activity in his parish church, and his work with the Boy Scouts in St. Louis, MO. A rosary will be said at 6:00 P.M., Friday, 29 June, 2012, followed by a memorial mass and inurnment at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda, Las Cruces, NM, 88005.
