Stewart M. Wilson, Sr., 87, passed away on August 1st, 2023 in Las Cruces, NM. Stewart was born to Monte Edwin Wilson and Dorothy Stewart Wilson on December 3rd, 1935 in Atlanta, GA. Stewart M. Wilson, Sr., 87, passed away on August 1st, 2023 in Las Cruces, NM. Stewart was born to Monte Edwin Wilson and Dorothy Stewart Wilson on December 3rd, 1935 in Atlanta, GA. At the age of 2, the family moved to Miami, FL, where his father established Wilson Fence Company. After graduating from Miami High School, he would serve as a tank mechanic in the US Army in Germany. He met Dr. Isabel Gomez Carrasco from Bogot, Colombia his beautiful wife of 65 years, on his return to Miami. After six years in Miami, Stewart and Isabel moved to Colombia, South America in 1962, where they lived in Bogot and Medellin for 13 years. On their return to Miami, he established Wilson Wood Fence and Decking. He later traveled and lived across the country as a sales rep for WeathaShade, eventually opening a branch in Riverside, California. After retiring 13 years later, Stewart and Isabel returned to Florida, then moving to Las Cruces in 2019. As a retiree, Stewart's joys were gatherings with family and friends, Bible study, cooking, golfing, playing bridge, and traveling. Stewart is survived by his wife Isabel, and their five children Marie Ros (John), Victoria Flynn (Tim), Stewart Jr., Frances, and Edwin. His ten grandchildren Caitlin, Sean, Nicole, Jacqueline, Cristina, Andrs, Stephanie, Brandon, Lorenzo, and Tosca and his six great-grandchildren Lili, Cillian, Franny, James, Joshua, and Sophia.
