Teodora G. Carrera, 71 of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. "Dora" as she was affectionately known, was born October 30, 1936 in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico. Dora was a resident of Las Cruces for about the last 50 years and was a member of the Catholic Church. Teodora G. Carrera, 71 of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. "Dora" as she was affectionately known, was born October 30, 1936 in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico. Dora was a resident of Las Cruces for about the last 50 years and was a member of the Catholic Church. She had worked for Las Cruces Foods for nine years and was a homemaker. Dora is survived by her husband of 53 years, Narciso of the family home; three sons, Daniel Carrera and his wife Gloria V. of Las Cruces, NM; Alberto Carrera and his wife Gloria S. of Las Cruces, NM; and Arturo Carrera and his wife Yolanda of Kirtland, NM. One daughter, Lucy Telles and her husband Harry of Las Cruces, NM. Also surviving Dora are 12 grandchildren, Alejandro, Dominic, Keenan, Christopher, Jacob Carrera, Albert Carrera Jr, and Daniel Carrera Jr, Michael Telles, Christina Telles, Naomi Salazar, Samantha Valverde, and Chrystal Telles and five great grandchildren. Dora also leaves behind her beloved pet dogs, Mugger and Smokey. She was preceded in death by her mother Eustorgia P. Ruiz in 1999 and six brothers. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral liturgy will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Alejandro, Dominic, Keenan, Christopher Carrera, Daniel Carrera Jr. and Michael Telles.
