Thais Noble

October 23, 1950 — December 26, 2022

Thais Juanita (Dewing) Noble passed away at her home on December 26, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Ella Mae Dewing of Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jim Noble, her son Jason and his wife Amy, her son Jerry and his wife Rachel, grandchildren Preston, Jaron, Lillian and Wyatt, brothers Roland Dewing and Robert Dewing, sister Jenny Lamb, and many other extended family members. Thais was born on October 23, 1950 in Los Alamos, NM. She graduated from Dickinson High School in Dickinson, TX in 1968. She received a Bachelors Degree in Education from New Mexico State University (NMSU) in 1972 and a Masters Degree in Education in 1979. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher for 30 years in the Las Cruces Public Schools system and touched the lives of hundreds of students. For several years she also taught graduate courses at NMSU in the College of Education. She truly loved teaching and always worked to be a better teacher year after year. After she retired she was a Balanced Literacy Consultant for 10 years. She also taught Sunday school classes at St. Paul's and University United Methodist churches. Thais was an avid tennis player and was a member of the first NMSU Women's Tennis team, for which she received a NMSU Letter Jacket that she loved to wear. She and Jim received a National ranking in the Husband/Wife mixed doubles division in 2010. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley, the Dallas Cowboys, green chile, the hot New Mexico desert, and the Organ Mountains. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to all and will be greatly missed.
