Thomas C. Dunfee Sr., 68, of Las Cruces died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007. He was born March 28, 1939 in Teays, W. Virginia to Harry and Therese Hodges Dunfee. Thomas was a veteran of the US Army where he severed his country honorably. While in the Service of his country he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal w/ 2 Bronze Stars....
Thomas C. Dunfee Sr., 68, of Las Cruces died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007. He was born March 28, 1939 in Teays, W. Virginia to Harry and Therese Hodges Dunfee. Thomas was a veteran of the US Army where he severed his country honorably. While in the Service of his country he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal w/ 2 Bronze Stars. Thomas was also retired after many years of faithful service from the US Postal Service. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, sports, bowling and woodworking but his passion was for his family. He will be deeply missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Linda Dunfee of the family home; sons Thomas Dunfee Jr. and his wife Katherine of Ruidoso Downs, NM and Michael Dunfee and wife Cheryl of Las Cruces; daughter Juanita Washington and husband Clee III of Rio Rancho, NM; sisters Debbie Marrow and husband Paul, Crystal Howell and Ruby Mae Smith; grandchildren Rocky, Nolan, C.W., Savannah, Zeke, Katie and Sylvia. His parents, grandson Christopher and a brother preceded Thomas in death. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home with Pastor John Marshall of Calvary Chapel in Ruidoso, NM officiating.
