It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Tillman L. Smith. Born June 24, 1939 in Bee Oklahoma, Tillman passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 7, 2020 after a short illness. Tillman loved to golf, hunt, fish, sing, and tell stories to anyone who would listen. He was a member of the American Legion Post 44 in Elephant Butte New Mexico and loved to hoist a cold one...
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Tillman L. Smith. Born June 24, 1939 in Bee Oklahoma, Tillman passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 7, 2020 after a short illness. Tillman loved to golf, hunt, fish, sing, and tell stories to anyone who would listen. He was a member of the American Legion Post 44 in Elephant Butte New Mexico and loved to hoist a cold one with all of his buddies. Tillman is preceded in death by his father, Almus Smith, his mother, Daisy (Lightfoot) Smith, his daughter, Leeann Smith, the love of his life, Teresa (Portillo) Smith, father in-law, Joseph Portillo, mother in-law, Sophie Portillo, and numerous other Portillo family members. He is survived by his children Cynthia (Kenneth) Poor, Peggy Smith, and Mark (Natalia) Vega, grandchildren Jason (Jacqueline) Smith, Matthew Vega, Brittany Vega, Kenneth (Liz) Poor Jr, and Gregory (Kassi) Poor, and great grandchildren Aneva, Michael, Matthew Jr, Elijah, Colton, Braxton, and Elloise. A memorial services to remember Tillman will be held April 3, 2020, 11:00am, at the American Legion Post 44 in Elephant Butte, New Mexico. Service Information
