Send Flowers Timothy Wallace Evans October 12, 1936 - January 6, 2016 Timothy W. Evans, 79, died in Las Cruces, NM January 6, 2016. Son of Wallace Gamble Evans and Mame Elizabeth Evans, Tim born in St. Lewis, MO on October 12, 1936. He spent most of his childhood in Charleston, WV and Cincinnati, OH. His father died in 1954 and a short time later in February 1956 Tim enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served most of his tour in Korea just after the Korean Conflict. In January 1960 he was honorably discharged and traveled to Las Cruces to rejoin his mother who worked as a registered nurse at Memorial General Hospital. It was through the friendship of his mother and her co-worker that Tim found the love of his life, Theresa. After a quick romance and knowing it was meant to be Tim and Theresa married in September of that year. Theresa continue to work as an RN at the hospital while Tim started his collegiate endeavors that in time eventually earned a masters degree in Microbiology. He worked for the NM department of public health and later continued to serve his country for the Department of Defense at White Sands Missile Range. As an Army civil servant he made many contributions and earned several letters of commendation from base Commanders. Tim enjoyed the game of golf and as an avid golfer spending much time on the fairways and greens. Tim is survived by his wife Theresa, their four children Bryan Evans (wife Lori) of Las Cruces, Annette Hicks (husband Daniel) of Las Cruces, Shawn Evans (wife Joni) of Las Cruces, James Evans (wife Carolyn) of Las Cruces, his sister Sally Feise of Espanola, NM, many brother and sister-in-law's, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Tim is preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Mame Elizabeth. A prayer vigil will take place at 9:30AM, at St. Albert the Great Newman Center, on Monday January 11, 2016. The funeral liturgy to immediately follow the prayer vigil at 10:00AM, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
