Tony Trujillo, 79, went home to be with the Lord on November 24, 2013. Born in 1934 in Pasamonte and raised in Clayton, NM, "Chief" as he was affectionately known, served proudly in the Army National Guard for 43 years and in the Civil Service until his retirement in 1994. He also worked with the Dona Ana County Elections Bureau as a poll worker, and had been a park ranger at Bonito Lake, NM. He was a lifelong athlete, playing in many basketball leagues in addition to his high school basketball, football, and track activities. He enjoyed camping, traveling, casinos, westerns, and his three Chihuahua "grandbabies." He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Flora Trujillo, sons Anthony Trujillo and wife Jean, Gerald Trujillo, daughter Elizabeth Trujillo, seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; brother Joe and wife Mary, and sisters Beatrice and husband Benny, Hazel and Ruby. He was preceded in death by his parents Rubel and Marillita Trujillo; siblings Rudy, Felix, Tacho, Leroy, Helen and Olie. Rosary and funeral mass will be held 10 am, Thursday December 5, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, and a gathering will follow at VFW #3242, 2001 N. Mesquite St. He is resting now, safe in the arms of Our Lord. PDF Printable Version
