Velma Ann Holguin, 61 of Las Cruces, NM passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2006. Velma was born on February 3, 1945 to Michael and Isabell Orwig. Velma is survived by her husband of 39 years, Guadalupe Holguin, her son Michael Holguin and wife Toni of Midland, Mich.; her daughter, Rachael Lorraine Fransee and husband Edward of Midland, Mich. Velma Ann Holguin, 61 of Las Cruces, NM passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2006. Velma was born on February 3, 1945 to Michael and Isabell Orwig. Velma is survived by her husband of 39 years, Guadalupe Holguin, her son Michael Holguin and wife Toni of Midland, Mich.; her daughter, Rachael Lorraine Fransee and husband Edward of Midland, Mich. Five grandchildren, Destiny and Brittany Holguin, and Anthony, Alexander and Noah Fransee. Also surviving Velma are two sisters, Polly Ostroski and husband Joe, and Janet Valentine all of Midland, Mich. Remaining family are aunts, Ella Tucker and Edith Schultz and uncles, Milton Orwig and Ken Orwig; Her mother in law, Felicitas Holguin, three sister in laws, three brother in laws, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Michigan and Las Cruces also survive Velma. Velma was preceded in death by her mother Isabell Orwig who just passed away shy of her 95th birthday and her brother in law, Lee Valentine. Velma's affection for people and her beloved dogs were next to none. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, July 7, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. Officiating will be Fr. Andres Alva from Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church. At Velma's request cremation will follow. PDF Printable Version
