Victor Scott Whitney, 46, of Las Cruces, NM died December 16, 2010. He was born on Holloman Air Force Base on December 26, 1963 to Morris and Mary Bassford Whitney. He severed his Country Honorably in the United States Air Force. Victor Scott Whitney, 46, of Las Cruces, NM died December 16, 2010. He was born on Holloman Air Force Base on December 26, 1963 to Morris and Mary Bassford Whitney. He severed his Country Honorably in the United States Air Force. Victor enjoyed being in the outdoors camping and hiking, he loved a good cigar and antiques, especially old watches which he collected. He was also very proud of his membership to the Las Cruces Lions Club. He is survived by his father Morris V. and wife Carlene Whitney of Las Cruces, NM; two daughters Kira and Elisabeth Whitney both of Littleton, CO; two sisters Vasana Burfield of Sanford , FL; and Sherri Jacko and husband David of Las Cruces, NM. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Annamarie, Barrick, Jessica, Branden, Victoria, Timothy, Steven, and Joseph. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Bassford Whitney and his brother Mike Whitney. A visitation will be held Monday December 20, 2010 from 5-7 PM at Getz Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday December 21, 2010 at 10 AM at the First Church of the Nazarene , 1900 S. Locust.
