Wallace A. Garvey, 68 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Village at Northrise in Las Cruces. He was born May 7, 1937 in Boone, Iowa to Howard and Marie Garvey. Wallace was an area resident for many years, but previously he had worked for 24 years in Clinton Iowa at Clinton Corn Processing and after that he had been an over-the-road truck driver in the Iowa area and in New Mexico. Wallace is survived by his wife Carol of Las Cruces, NM; three sons, Jay and wife Cindy Garvey of Iowa; Todd Garvey of Arizona and Rodd Garvey also of Arizona. Two daughters, Vicky Kashon of Colorado; and Connie Schaaf of Illinois. Two stepsons, Kerry and wife Natalie McMahon of Texas and Rocky McMahon of Iowa; one stepdaughter, Claudia and husband Richard Jensen of New Mexico. Three sisters, Marilyn and husband Carl Coleman of Illinois; Beverly and husband Leroy Jensen of Iowa, and Carolyn and husband Don May of Illinois. Also surviving Wallace are 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel.
