Wanda J. Melton, 57, of Las Cruces, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008. She was born March 9, 1951 in Monticello, AK to William and Fanny Shultz. Wanda was a very educated lady with a Masters Degree in Education and was willing to share with many students most recently with the Gadsden Independent School District. She had a love of arts and crafts, quilting and woodworking but her passion was for decorating Christmas trees with a different theme for every year. She will be deeply missed by all her family and many friends who knew and love her. Wanda is survived by her sons William A. Melton and wife Danette and John A. Melton all of Las Cruces; father Col. William Shultz of Pennsylvania. Also surviving her are two very special people in her life Karen Edmonston of Anthony, NM and Wanda A. Nelson of La Mesa, NM. Preceding Wanda in death was her husband Wayne A. Melton, mother Fanny Shultz and sister Marilyn. Memorial Services to celebrate her life will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home with Rev. Bonny Rice officiating.
