Wanda M. McNeil, 86 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at her home. She was born April 12, 1918 in Des Moines, New Mexico to Ben and Grace Longwill. Wanda M. McNeil, 86 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at her home. She was born April 12, 1918 in Des Moines, New Mexico to Ben and Grace Longwill. A resident of Las Cruces for about the last 40 years she was a retired schoolteacher. She belonged to the Mary Martha Circle, the Three Crosses Travel Group, The Mall Walkers, and the In Betweeners. Wanda loved playing cards and was an avid sports fan of Aggie football and basketball. All who knew her knew she was a permanent fixture at all Mayfield football games. Wanda was also a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and Elder. She is survived by one brother; Ben Longwell and his wife Marilyn of Albuquerque, NM; one sister, Phyllis Bradley and her husband Jim of Las Cruces, NM; three grandchildren, Bill McNeil and his wife Myrna; Todd McNeil, and Jami McNeil; daughter-in-law Lynne Hemenway and husband Bill of Socorro, NM; four great grandchildren, Mary Jane, Alisha, James and John Thomas; three great great grandchildren, Angelica, Jacob, and Sean; also by her nieces and nephews; Jimmy Jr., Michael, Debbie, Gary, Connie, Sherry, Donnie, Ronnie, Ben, Neal, Brian, and Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband William in November of 2004, a son Jimmy McNeil, and a sister, Ione Burton. At her request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at First Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Boutz Road and burial of...
