He was born April 17, 1921 in Tell City, Indiana to William Marion Lamkin and Neely Mae (Moseley) Lamkin. William Amos "Sam" Lamkin, formerly of Albuquerque, NM died February 17, 2008 in Las Cruces, NM. He was born April 17, 1921 in Tell City, Indiana to William Marion Lamkin and Neely Mae (Moseley) Lamkin. Mr. Lamkin resided in Albuquerque, NM from 1946 until he retired and relocated to Las Cruces NM in 1985. He was a dedicated family man and cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Lamkin is survived by his son William Larry and wife Inez Lamkin; three granddaughters, Denise Lamkin; Jeannette Frietze and husband Mark; and Kathryn Woodward and husband Matt. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Shelby Lee, Brandon Clark, Bailey and Trevor Frietze; two sisters, Maurine Menne of Memphis TN and Marian Lally of Albuquerque, NM and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Nerine Lamkin; his sister, Ethel Flowers, and his brothers, Billy Gene Lamkin, Henry Lamkin and Clovis Paul Lamkin. Graveside Funeral Services were held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery where he was laid to rest along with his wife Martha. PDF Printable Version
