William Elwood DeBraal age 74, of Las Cruces passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. "Bill" as he was fondly known, was born May 29, 1936 in Vanadium, NM to Cornelius John and Eva D. William Elwood DeBraal age 74, of Las Cruces passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. "Bill" as he was fondly known, was born May 29, 1936 in Vanadium, NM to Cornelius John and Eva D. DeBraal and was a lifelong area resident. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Berta; daughter, Anne Sutherlin and her husband John of San Jose, CA; his son William (Casey) DeBraal of Las Cruces; granddaughter Nicole Sutherlin of San Jose, CA; brother John DeBraal and sister-in-law JoAnn of Bayard, NM; brother James DeBraal and sister-in-law Sharon of Las Cruces; and sister Jane Mitchell of Silver City, NM. Bill was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served his country honorably. After he was discharged he lived a full and active life of multiple careers, enriching his life with many friends and travels. Bill loved to drink coffee with his friends and target shoot. Bill was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The DeBraal family would like to extend an invitation to celebrate Bill's life at the family home on Friday, October 15, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Habitat for Humanity, 720 N.
