William (Bill) H. Robertson Jr., 75, of Las Cruces, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006. He was born April 20, 1930 in Linden, TX to Heard and Azelle Stanley Robertson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served his country honorably. Bill received his BBA degree with a major in accounting in 1951 from the University of Texas in Austin, TX, was a graduate from the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations Agent School in Washington D.C. in 1952 and graduated from the University of Colorado School of Banking, Boulder, CO in 1970 where he received the Certificate of Outstanding Scholastic Achievement. He served as Chairman of the Board of First New Mexico Bank of Las Cruces, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Western Bank, Las Cruces, President, Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Western Bank, Truth or Consequences, NM, President, Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Citizens Bank of Las Cruces. Mr. Robertson had been a member of many organizations throughout the southwest and was always willing to help each of them above and beyond the call of duty. Bill's hobbies included fishing, flying, hunting and playing pool. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who came to know and love him. Funeral Services are at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2006 also at Getz Funeral Home with Dr. Frank Zamora officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in Linden, TX.
