William Peter Fugelso

William Peter Fugelso, 65, of Las Cruces, NM, died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Bill, as he was affectionately known, was born February 7, 1944 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Erling and Fanny Fugelso. Bill is a graduate of the University of North Dakota and the Indiana University School of Law. He spent his entire career in the service of his country. He served extensively in the active Army and retired from the Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. He served as a civilian attorney for the Army in the Boston area and, for the last 18 years, at White Sands Missile Range. He was also active in veterans' affairs and many veterans' organizations. Bill is survived by his wife of eight years, Pam; one son, Karl Fugelso (Carol) of Towson, Maryland; one daughter, Siobhan Fugelso of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Karl's daughter Anna; one brother, Erling Fugelso (Yolanda) of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; one sister, Nancy Muldrow (Charlie) of East Windsor, New Jersey; nephews, a niece and several cousins. His parents, Erling and Fanny, preceded him in death. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 225 W. Griggs Ave. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Whitley and Rev. Doug Weeks.
