William (Bill) Ray Mullins, 55 of La Mesa, NM died Monday August 1, 2011. He was born to Malcolm and Effie Mullins on Sept. 13, 1955 in Las Cruces. After graduating from Mayfield High School in 1973 Bill joined the US Navy where he served our country honorably. He worked with the Sheriffs' Dept. for 3 years and fulfilled his dream of becoming an officer with the New Mexico State Police where he worked for 13 years. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, but his passion was for his children. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons William (Billy) Mullins Jr. and son Andy Parks both of La Mesa, NM; daughters Katie Mullins and Andrea Parks both of La Mesa, NM; mother Effie Bell and husband Joe of Las Cruces; step-mother Ada Mullins; brothers Michael Mullins of Las Cruces, Adan Mullins and Jesse Mullins both of Austin, TX; sister Myra Mullins of Iowa and by his dear friends Dawni, Lilly and Joey. William was preceded in death by his father Malcolm Mullins. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be at 6 pm on Friday, August 5, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home with Sam Garcia officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Rudy, Ronnie, Richard Samaniego, Rick Looney, Manny Sarracino and Donnie Haynie.
