Willie A. Johnson, 70 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. Willie was born April 20, 1935 in Salem, New Mexico to Albert and Julie Johnson. Willie A. Johnson, 70 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. Willie was born April 20, 1935 in Salem, New Mexico to Albert and Julie Johnson. A lifelong resident of the area he enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping. He had retired from the construction industry and was a member of the Elks Lodge. Willie is survived by his wife Wanda of the family home; two sons, Wayne Johnson and his wife Bobbie of Las Cruces, NM and Jerry Johnson also of Las Cruces. One daughter Darlene LaDriere and her husband Dennis of Las Cruces, NM. Three brothers, Jimmy Johnson and his wife Almabelle of Phoenix, AZ; Homer Johnson and his wife Kathleen of Las Cruces, NM and Don Johnson and his wife Dorothy of Harrison, AR. Six grandchildren also survive him; Matt, Josh and Brando LaDriere, and Kristen, Kyle and Courtney Johnson. He also has many cousins, nephews and nieces. Willie was preceded in death by one brother, L.B. Johnson in 1985 and L.B.'s wife, Willie's sister-in-law, Leona in 1995. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home. A Graveside Funeral Service will be at 1 pm on Friday, December 23, 2005 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be his nephews, Billy Johnson and Gary Johnson. PDF Printable Version
