Willis " Willie" Cushing, age 69, went to be with his God on June 5, 2005. Born July 28, 1935 in Stratton, Nebraska to Thelma and Harry Cushing. Willie took great pride in his service in the United States Air Force and his service to his Country in Vietnam. Willis " Willie" Cushing, age 69, went to be with his God on June 5, 2005. Born July 28, 1935 in Stratton, Nebraska to Thelma and Harry Cushing. Willie took great pride in his service in the United States Air Force and his service to his Country in Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force in 1972.He was employed by the United States Post Office and retired as Post Master of the Dona Ana Post Office in 1998. Currently he was employed at Samons Electric Plumbing Supply. He is survived by his wife, Jamie, the father of four daughters, De Laina Cushing, Denise Hernandez and her husband Robert, Tara Rathburn and her husband Kirk, and Kimberly Hynes, and her husband Tommy, two sons, Michael Cushing and Brad Candelaria. He leaves behind thirteen grand children, Christopher,Brandon, Loedi, Shelby, Elle, Elyssa, Kyanne, Garret, Chance, Cory, Austin, T.J. and Kayla. He also had three great grand children, Darian, Taylor and Triston. He also leaves behind two brothers, Erwin & Harold Cushing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Harry Cushing and his sister Elnora Kitt. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice 299 E. Montana Las Cruces, NM 88005. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday June 8, 2005 at the Getz Funeral Home Chapel. The burial of cremains and full military honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
