Yolanda Franco Barraza, of Fairacres, NM, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011. She was born August 11, 1945 in La Fe, Mexico to Toribio and Ignacia Rojas Franco. She enjoyed cooking for her family and making their favorite meals for birthdays and caring for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending her Sunday afternoons at the casinos. Yolanda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. MOM WE LOVE YOU! She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Crisoforo Barraza of the family home; children Hector, Cindy and Criselda; her 9 wonderful grandchildren Sofia and Darian Herrera, Matthew and Pamela Barraza, Vanessa, Marissa, Melissa, Aaron and Adrian Maldonado; great-grandchildren Jevon Mason and A'lea Izabella; 7 brothers Martin, Oscar, Abel, Rodolfo, Agustin, Froylan, and Javier; 3 sisters Bricia, Alma and Minerva and by her childhood friend and neighbor Carlota Torres. Yolanda was preceded in death by her youngest son Eddie Ray whose loss was very hard for the family, but her strong will helped all through a very hard time. Yolanda is also preceded in death by her parents and brother Alejo Varela. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home where her prayer vigil will follow at 7 pm. Yolanda's funeral mass to celebrate her life will be at 10 am on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church with the Augustinian Recollects officiating. Rite of Committal will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to Hector, Felix, Matthew and Oscar Barraza, Oscar Jimenez, Froylan, Rodolfo and Javier Franco and Austin Gelgand.
