Albert “Al” Lonnie Lambeth, 85, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, with loved ones by his side. Born on January 4, 1940, in Edgewood, New Mexico, Albert lived a full and dedicated life marked by service, hard work, and an unwavering love for family and community.

A proud veteran, Albert served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict. After his military service, he followed his passion for music and briefly toured with the band “Lurch and the Pall Bearers”. Later he would have an accomplished career with Deffenbaugh Industries in Kansas City, Missouri, where he became one of the company’s leading Hazardous Waste experts. He then worked with Doak Trucking in Las Cruces as a driver and highly respected Safety Officer. Later he would follow his entrepreneurial spirit as the owner and operator of Iron Horse Railroad Salvage in Las Cruces.

Al was an active and cherished member of the Las Cruces Elks Lodge. His contributions to community programs such as “Shattered Lives”, “Run to the Wall”, and “Trunk or Treat” demonstrated his boundless dedication to helping others. Known for his contagious smile and larger-than-life personality, Al never turned away anyone in need and always offered a helping hand.

Al is survived by his beloved wife, Jamie; sister Shirley; children Teresa (John), Melissa (Kevin), Prentice (Mindy), Denise, Tara (Kirk), Brad (Michelle), and Kimberly (Thomas); 19 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and his extended family and friends who loved him dearly. Al was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlene; parents, Prentice and Lola; brothers Tom and Ray; sister Joyce.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 18, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Las Cruces Elks Lodge, 3000 Elks Drive, Las Cruces, New Mexico.
