Amanda Sue "Susie" Waters, born July 17, 1940 in Dyersburg, TN. to Harry P. Miller and Mary Neely Miller. Susie grew up in Mesilla, NM and attended Court Junior High and graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1958. She worked at Raytheon at White Sands Missile Range during the first "Hawk" Missile Project. Later in life she worked for J&N Electric and retired from Consolidated Electrical Distributors, a job she loved dearly as much as the many electricians who she considered family. She was very active in the community working with the Catholic Charities and family to many in Mesilla. Through her travels with her family in the mid 70's she gained many friends in Asia, Hawaii and Langdon, N.D. Susie had a love for fishing, walking the mesa, ceramics and restoring antique furniture. She will forever be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah Marie; her parents; Sister Mary Murrell and by a son-in-law Richard Z. Hernandez. She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Hernandez, grandson Russell Hernandez and partner Chris Schaljo; sister Lillyan "Windy" Johnson and "best brother-in-law" Arthur G. Her close cousin Mary "Deed" Chacon of Garden Grove, CA, and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Services to celebrate her life will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday July 16, 2011 at Getz funeral Home with Fr. Don Adamski officiating. PDF Printable Version
