Anna A. Torres, 83, lifelong resident of Las Cruces died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011. Nena as she was fondly known was born Jan. 20, 1928 in Las Cruces to Nick and Juanita Apodaca. She had been a faithful member of St. Genevieve's Catholic Church and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Ray Torres Sr. of the family home; son Ray Torres Jr. and wife Sally; daughter Linda Tirre and husband Johnny; brothers Nick and Ernest Apodaca and sister Lupe Baca all of Las Cruces. Nena is also survived by her grandchildren Michael, Yvonne, Orlando, Nick and Salina and by great-grandchildren Lovaey, Athena, Nathaniel and Damien. She was preceded in death by her son Ronald, parents, Brothers Alberto and Luis Apodaca and sisters Carmen Dioses and Margaret Alvarez. A prayer vigil will be prayed at 10 AM on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church where her funeral mass will follow at 10:30 AM with Fr. Ricardo Bauza officiating. Rite of Committal will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to members of Nena's family. PDF Printable Version
