Arcadio “Art or Artie” Ramos Garcia passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, at the age of 77 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Was born on January 12, 1949, to Felix and Anita (Ramos) Garcia in Namiquipa, Chihuahua, Mexico. He later moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico, where he met his “woman” Linda, and married on December 12, 1978.
Known to everyone as "Art or Artie," he was the life of every gathering. His infectious smile, laugh, quick wit, generous heart, he enjoyed sitting on a barstool “chewing the fat” with everyone, where he made lifelong memories and friendships. He was not really a hobby man but liked fishing and was a good pool shooter (8 ball & 9 ball) back in the day. He enjoyed cooking for him and his woman. And calling his sister “Mi abuela” when he knew she would be visiting, to take him a “chicharron burrito” from his favorite place Los Compas Café.
He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly, treasured friends, and community at The American Legion, Post 0004. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Artie is survived by his woman, Linda Garcia of Deming, New Mexico, six beloved children, Oscar Orrantia of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Jose Rojas, Jaime Rojas, Arcadio Garcia, and Analia Garcia all of Cuidad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and Monty Manos of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Siblings, Socorro Martinez, Manuela Cruz (Mi Abuela), and Gloria Silva of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Eleuterio Garcia of Palomas, Chihuahua, Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Rojas Garcia, parents Felix and Anita Garcia, his brothers Isaias, Felix JR, Ramon, Anastacio, Pilar, and Reyes Garcia, his sisters Alejandra Orona and Jesusita De La Cruz.
A Public viewing is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 9:30-10:30 AM with rosary/funeral service beginning at 10:30AM in the Getz Funeral Home Chapel, cremation will follow.
