Beverly Jo Williams went home to be with Jesus on February 17, 2026. She was born to Joe B. and Jacqueline Ratliff on October 1, 1946 in Los Alamos, New Mexico. A few years later, the family moved to Albuquerque where she attended Montezuma Elementary, Jefferson Junior High and Highland High School.
She used to joke that she was a cheerleader, “for a minute” until grades and a penchant for practical jokes got her removed from the squad. More seasoned Highland Hornet alums may remember when she put dry ice in the toilets. This was our mom. She was a ton of fun and loved to be outside. She loved Stephen King books, the Wizard of Oz and elephants. The zoo was one of her favorite places. She also loved hanging out with her brother Jerry and sister-in-law Becky by their pond. She enjoyed water skiing, roller skating with her daughters, playing cards and board games with family, fishing, hiking and exploring the mountains and forests with her husband of 33 years, Chuck Williams. Together, they built a life centered around their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. They hosted every holiday and birthday event and Beverly was famous for her banana ice-cream and “Not for Gringos” burritos. She always had chips and salsa ready for company or a snack. She and her daughters enjoyed a “girl’s trip” each summer creating many sweet memories. Beverly was fiercely loyal to God first, then her family and then her friends. She retired from Mountain States Mutual Insurance Group but continued to enjoy regular lunches at Monroe’s with her “peeps” until she moved to Las Cruces to be near her oldest daughter.
Even as Alzheimer’s Disease staked it’s claim, Beverly continued to profess her love of Jesus and devotion to family and friends.
She is survived by her brother Jerry Ratliff (Becky), daughter Jennifer Raess (Joel), daughter Jonnah Glatt (Sweetness) and grandchildren Madison Duran (Donovan) and Noah Raess.
She is preceded in death by her husband Chuck Williams and her parents.
We are so sad that she is gone, but we rejoice that she has been welcomed into the arms of her loving Savior.
In her words, “Thank God for God!” “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying ‘Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4
