Bobby Hernandez Jr.

October 19, 1971 — January 5, 2026

Las Cruces, New Mexico

Bobby Hernandez Jr., born on October 19, 1971, in a family that cherished the joy of life, passed away on January 5, 2026. He was a loving son, devoted father, and proud grandfather whose vibrant spirit touched everyone around him. Bobby dedicated his life to his work and his family. As the owner of Hernandez Construction, he not only showcased his skills as a talented contractor but also created opportunities for many in the community. He proudly worked for the Carpenters Union, building not just structures but lasting relationships. His ambition led him to gain his Ownership License for the All American Futurity, a testament to his passion for horse racing and dedication to his dreams. He lived life in the fast lane, with a personality that was as loud as his passions were big. Bobby was a man of many interests-his love for the Dallas Cowboys was matched only by his enjoyment of dancing to the tunes of Bob Marley, UB40, Al Green, Akon, Zapp & Roger, Cornelio Reyna and of course Ramon Ayala. Whether he was tending to his horses, dogs, and roosters or celebrating with family and friends, his energy was infectious. Memories of him dancing, with his volume turned up, will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. Bobby was a giving soul whose most cherished treasures were his daughters: Briana, Brandy, and Brenda. He also adored his grandchildren-Makayla, AnnMarie, Brielle, and Santiago-who brought him endless joy and laughter. He shared a strong bond with his siblings, Alfred (Freddy), Annette, Jason and Brittney, which highlighted the love and unity he fostered within his family.

Bobby is survived by his father, Bobby Hernandez Sr.; his mother, Rosella Hernandez; his fiancée, Barbara Estrada; his daughter, Valentina Old Mouse(Tynel); the mother of his children, Veronica (Bonnie) Chavez; He is also survived by his grandchildren Ayaniv Old Mouse, Daniv Old Mouse, Arturo Old Mouse, Alianna Estrada, and Leila Estrada. Bobby’s extended family includes his stepchildren, Lance Estrada and Summer Estrada Godfrey.

Though Bobby has left this world, his legacy will continue to thrive in the hearts of those he loved and inspired. Family and friends will come together to honor his memory and celebrate his incredible life. His spirit will forever live on in the fast, loud, and joyous moments we all shared with him.
