Brian Douglas Tomlin

It is with sad hearts, the family of our precious son and brother, Brian Douglas Tomlin, announces his passing on June 4th, 2025. His family living in Austin, Texas joins us with loving feelings.

Brian was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico on February 26th, 1975. He was educated there as well and went to Mayfield High School. He was a gifted musician and moved to Austin where he became active in the music scene. He also went to college there and eventually graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. He played in many bands, almost too numerous to name and went on tour in Europe. After starting a family, he transitioned to the business world and was employed by Expedia at the time of his passing.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil and Ida Belle Tomlin of Las Cruces and Jean and John Avanzino of Long Island, New York. He was also preceded by his uncle, Douglas Tomlin.

Left to mourn his passing are his parents, Tommy and Cheryl Tomlin and his brother, Nicholas. Several relatives on Long Island and in New York City will miss him too. He also leaves his two beautiful children living in Austin with their mother Susannah Reilly. His darling daughter Jewel and his “little buddy” Ian.

A visitation will be held at Getz Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 5:00 pm and a private graveside service will be held by the family. A memorial service will be held in Austin, TX at a later date.
