Carl Renfro

Carl D Renfro, age 89 of Las Cruces, NM passed away peacefully in his home, Thursday morning, April 10th, 2025.

Carl is survived by his brother Nolen Del Renfro of Grants Pass, OR.

He is preceded in death by parents Herman F. & Dorothy E. Renfro and brother Ronald Marvin Renfro.

Carl was born in 1935 in Albuquerque, NM, until his family moved to Grants Pass, OR in 1945. Graduated from Grants Pass Highschool in 1954, then joined the Airforce in 1956, where he was Stationed in France as a Communication Technician.

In 1960, Carl was discharged from the Airforce and went to work at a sawmill for a short time, before starting his career with the airlines. He worked for Pacific, Air West, Howard Hughes Air West, then finished up with Delta in Sacramento, CA., for over 33 yrs., before he retired at the age of 58.

Carl traveled around a bit after he retired, then decided to settle down in a little town called Las Cruces in 2004, where his cousin Bernice & Eddie Binns lived. For years he enjoyed traveling back home for the annual Grants Pass High School Reunion, always keeping Intouch with as many friends and family as he could.

He was involved with horse crewing on some of the long-distance endurance horse rides across the country with family. He helped out a lot around the farm and especially with the pecan season, after harvest he would mail some to friends & family, then loved the phone calls after they received them.

Carl also spent time on the Binns Cattle Ranch, where he enjoyed learning and living a little bit of the Cowboy Life.

As a friend it is very hard to write about a person's life in just a few short paragraphs, but if you take the time to sit down and listen to the stories, you will remember all the smiles, the laughter and the tears you shared together. We will miss you, Carl.
