In Loving Memory of

Carlos Favela

November 28, 1971-October 11, 2026

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend Carlos Favela who entered eternal rest on October 11, 2026. Born November 28, 1971, in El Paso, TX to Father Faustino Favela and Mother Maria De La Luz Favela, Carlos was raised in San Miguel, New Mexico and made his home in Mesquite, New Mexico.

While we feel the profound sorrow of his passing, we come together to honor the rich fullness of his journey: a life marked by laughter, adventure, steadfast faith, quiet sacrifice, and an unshakeable love for those he held dear, Carlos will be deeply loved and forever missed by many,

Carlos’s love knew no bounds and his dedication to his family was absolute. To his wife, children, and grandchildren he was much more than a husband and a father-he was a cherished guide, a comfort in times of need, and a source of endless laughter and devotion. Carlos meant far more to his parents and brothers than just family connection. Carlos truly got their family’s unique dynamics-their beautiful and fun traditions, the inside jokes, and the unspoken rules that held them so closely together. Carlos was fond of sharing all sorts of childhood stories, he possessed an innate instinct to love, protect, and cherish each and everyone of them with all his heart.

For many years Carlos took immense pride in his work as a Big Rig Driver and later as a Mechanical Technician for Southwest Range Services in White Sands, New Mexico. Beyond dedication to his job, Carlos cherished the lifelong friendships he built along the way. In his free time, Carlos could be found under the hood of a car or truck, riding his motorcycle, fishing with his grandchildren and friends, helping his brothers with projects, and sharing his passion for classic cars. Carlos loved attending NHRA racing events, Good Guys Rod and Custom Car Shows, and traveling to his favorite places such as Puerto Penasco, Mexico, Cancun, Mexico, and Tombstone, Arizona. Carlos also enjoyed his many camping adventures with family and friends, gathering around campfires, and listening to music,

Carlos was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need-whether that meant, fixing a car, building a porch, hauling gravel or a load to the dump, but mainly his favorite hobby was grilling up a meal to have “PAPA TIME” while cracking jokes over a cold drink or offer a listening ear. Carlos also believed deeply in giving back by routinely donating his time to charitable community events.

Carlos’s life was, above all, a testament to his deep devotion and unconditional love for his family. Carlos ‘s wife was his treasure, his parents were his heart, his brothers were his world with an unbreakable bond, and his cousins were his faithful “partners in crime”. The light in Carlos’s world were his children and stepchildren and his grandchildren brought to him ultimate joy as the center of his universe.

Carlos is survived by his wife, Regina Jo Lujan Favela; His children, Yvette Favela Lubben and Husband Jesse Lubben, Cree A. Favela, Nicholas Favela, Tyee C. Favela; His Stepchildren, Amorette S. Lujan, Dohnovan A. Ortiz and wife Estephania Ortiz, Kendric R. Ortiz and wife Andrea Ortiz, Jerika D. Ortiz, Keilani D. Ortiz; Grandchildren, Destin J. Barreras, Danae Ortiz, Lane R. Sapien, Aziaha M. Villa; His Parents, Faustino and Maria De La Luz Favela; His Brothers, Albert Favela and wife Rosie Favela, Daniel Favela and partner Tere Pasillas, Gabriel Favela and wife Jesusita Favela; His Blood Brothers by Heart, Michael Salcedo, Robert Pinon.

In addition to his immediate family, Carlos leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends whose lives were touched by his bright and spirited soul.

Carlos left a mark on our lives that time will never fade, and though he is no longer here with us, his spirit lives on in everything we do by the lasting impressions he made in our hearts.
