Catheryn C. Southerland, 60 of Las Cruces, New Mexico died Friday February 19, 2010 at Mesilla Valley Hospices La Posada. She was born on July 26, 1949 to Glen and Dolores Albee in Skowhegan, Maine. She was a kind-hearted person who enjoyed sewing and making crafts of all sorts, she even made her own wedding dress and clothing for her grandchildren. Catheryn's greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren it warmed her heart to watch them grow and see them smile. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 43 years Thomas "Tom" Southerland of the family home; son Randal "Randy" Southerland and wife Melissa of Las Cruces, NM; brothers Gary and wife Carol Albee of Anaheim, CA, Douglas and wife Kayleen Albee Of Lake Forest, CA; sisters Valorie and Husband Eric Hansen of Palmdale, CA, Debra and husband Jim Burke of Palmdale, CA; grandchildren Ashley, Cody and Bailey Southerland of Las Cruces, NM. Catheryn parents preceded her in death. A memorial service to celebrate Catheryn's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday February 25, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris McRae officiating.
