Cecilia V. Salas

Cecilia V. Salas (Chila, Ceci, Nani) passed away on Monday January 12, 2026 surrounded by her loving family at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, Texas.

Cecilia was known for her caring and loving heart. She was always there to help when you needed her. Her generosity was a blessing. She loved to play bingo, dance and listen to her music. She was a major Steelers fan. Sewing was her passion and she would do it for anyone who would ask her to fix their clothes. Cecilia loved to be around her family. She also worked for 25 years at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.

Cecilia for many years would sew trajes or costumes for anyone in the family who danced for Our Lady of Guadalupe in Tortugas, N.M. That was her passion and promise to our Lady.

Cecilia is survived by her daughters Denise and Patricia Salas. Her grandchildren: Toni (Jason), Orlando (Bryanna), Julian Salas, and Kelani (Ashley). Great grandchildren: Javontay (Pearl), Jordan, Acieiece, Angel, Ivory, Alany, Nyala, Asia, and Liam Salas. Her brother and sisters.

Cecilia is preceded in death by her husband Henry C. Salas, her daughter Michelle Salas, her parents Cornelio and Natalia Vigil.

Service are scheduled for 10:00 am on Thursday February 12, 2026 at St. Genevieves Catholic Church, followed by burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
