Christopher Manuel "Chris, Papos" Carnero, age 13, passed away on Thursday, April 9. Born on December 1, 2012, Chris lived a beautifully vibrant life, bringing endless light to everyone lucky enough to know him.

Chris had a radiant spirit; he loved to smile, laugh, and soak in every single moment of the world around him. He had a natural gift for connecting with people, thriving on making new friends and interacting with anyone who crossed his path. Chris had a boundless love for adventure of any kind and in any form-whether he was playing football or baseball, riding dirt bikes, or watching race cars. He was delightfully silly, incredibly sweet, and will forever be remembered for having the biggest, brightest smile in the room. He loved his people fiercely, and his heart was so large that he famously had over fifty "best friends."

He leaves behind a family who loves him beyond measure: his devoted parents, Janel and Manny Carnero; his brother and sister, Damian and Daisha; and his honorary brothers and sisters, Anthony, Destiny, Billie, and Christian. Chris is also deeply mourned by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, a ton of cousins, and thousands of friends whose lives he touched.

Friends and the public are warmly invited to join the family for a service to honor and celebrate Chris's life from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E. Bowman Ave. Las Cruces NM 88001. A lunch celebration will immediately follow, with the location to be announced at the service.
