Colleen Louise Bastidos

With hearts full of love and gratitude for her life, we share that Colleen Bastidos, entered into the presence of the Lord after courageously facing cancer. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on December 6, 2025. After 76 years of adventures, Colleen has taken the ultimate road trip.

Colleen was born on March 30, 1949 to Kenneth & Zora Michaelis.

Colleen met her soulmate, Ruben, and married on February 2, 1967, and built a wonderful life together. She was a military wife which she handled with strength and grace while raising 2 children. She was a faithful servant of the lord and enjoyed her time as a Catholic Daughter.

She loved to quilt, she made so many beautiful quilts through the years, many of them gifted to friends and family and many keep company warm that came to visit. She supported the Linus Foundation; she had a special place in her heart for making children quilts.

Colleen had a fondness for traveling with her children and their spouses, generating lasting memories.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Ruben: her children, Dawnette & Robert; her sister and brother; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, goddaughter, nieces, cousins, and countless dear friends whose lives she touched.

Colleen loved her family and friends with a big heart, was always available for a chat or numerous text messaging, she was always catching up with someone.

Services will be held at St. Genevieve in Las Cruces, NM. December 22nd, 10 a.m. rosary, 11 a.m. mass.

Guests are encouraged to wear bright colors instead of black, (purple was her favorite color) and bring stories or a special memory to share.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to St. Jude, a cause she held close to her heart and supported with great affection.
