David A. Lemen

It is with sadness that the passing of David Allan Lemen is announced. David, 82, passed away at Mesilla Valley Hospice - La Posada in Las Cruces, New Mexico on December, 6, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. David was born on November 28, 1931 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He spent his career in the non-profit field as a development officer and fund raiser in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska; including 16 years as CEO for Christian Home Association/Children's Square, USA in Council Bluffs. David served his country honorably with the United States Army in Korea. In 2002, he moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico and became involved in the community in many ways. He served on the board of the Las Cruces Symphony Association, as an advisor to the Chamber of Commerce; and had 39 years of perfect attendance in Rotary Clubs. He supported the NMSU Aggie Scholarship Association and NMSU Dance Department as well as Las Cruces Community Theater and No Strings Theater Company. David was also involved in the MANKIND Project and was an active member at Wellspring Church. He is survived by son Scott Lemen and fianc
