Dora Jean Placencia

DORA JEAN PLACENCIA, 83, lifelong resident of Lordsburg, NM passed away Friday August 1, 2025 in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. Memorial Services and a Celebration of Life are pending. Dora was born June 5, 1942 in Lordsburg, NM to Salvador and Belen Chavez. She was a people person who spent her lifetime working in the public sector in the Banking, Bookkeeping, Insurance and the New Mexico Income Support Division. She truly enjoyed being around people and loved her family and friends with great passion. She also enjoyed reading,

working around the house and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 62 years Feliciano Placencia of Lordsburg, NM. She is survived by her step-son Frank Placencia (Debbie) of Las Vegas, NV, son Sal Placencia (Olivia) of Las Cruces, NM; daughter Debbie Bravo (Paul) of Las Cruces, NM and her almost like a daughter Mary Camacho-Dimas (Tommy) of Las Cruces, NM; brother in-laws Manuel Placencia (Janie) of Marana, AZ, Joey Placencia (Rose) of Silver City, NM, Fritz Placencia of Lordsburg, NM, Danny Placencia (Bea) of Lordsburg, NM; sister in-law Alice Castro (Carlos) of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren Chano Bravo of Las Cruces, NM, Andrea Silva (Nate) of Las Cruces, NM, Erik Placencia (Jessica) of Colorado Springs, CO, and 4 great grandchildren: Jesalee, Cambrie, Addylicia and Ryan.
