Elvira Salas Elvira Salas, 89, of Las Cruces entered eternal life on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Elvira was born December 23, 1921 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Bernardo and Juanita Baldonado Carrillo. She had been a member of St. Genevieve's Catholic Church for many years. Whether it was making tortillas and delicious food for her family, taking care of her grandkids, praying or lending her support, Elvira was always there for her family and any person in need. Over the years she took in many and provided a loving home. Elvira was the consummate model for generosity and adored her family, especially her grandchildren and dog Princess. Elvira will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched. Elvira is survived by her children Henry Salas and wife Cecelia, Ralph Salas and wife Leah, Darlene Morales and husband Johnny, Davie Salas and wife Kelly all of Las Cruces; grandchildren Denise, Michelle, Patricia, Giancarlo, Lauren, Austin, Cameron, Ashley, Sydney and Thomas. Elvira was preceded in death by her loving husband Raphael, brother Robert Carrillo and sister Genevieve Barela. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, November 7, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 pm. Elvira's funeral mass to celebrate her life will be at 10 am on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at St. Albert the Great Newman Center. Rite of Committal will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
