Esperanza Calderon, 67 years old of Las Cruces, New Mexico died Monday, January 15, 2007 at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque. She was born September 27, 1939 in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico. She had retired as a silk presser from the local cleaners. Esperanza was a strong willed and brave lady who enjoyed laughing, spending time with her grandchildren, traveling and visiting casinos. She was a sincere and loving person whose quick wit and humor was always something her family & friends could bet on. Esperanza is survived by her four children, Maria Calderon Lopez; Norma Lockhart; Gerardo Lopez and wife Jeanie; and Eduardo Lopez and wife Elizabeth. Eight grandchildren, Arturo Rodriguez, Nicole Medina, Christopher Lockhart, Richard Trujillo, Robert Trujillo, Joshua Lopez, Seth Lopez and Faith Lopez. Also surviving her are three brothers, Aniseto Calderon and wife Alicia, Alfonso Calderon and wife Lydia, and Eduardo Calderon and wife Bertha; and three sisters, Trinidad Munoz, Eva Foss and Esther Carrillo and husband Filimon. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ricardo Lopez; a grandson, Angel Miguel Lopez and two brothers, Manuel Calderon and Salvador Calderon. A gathering of family and friends will be from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel with service at 10 a.m. and burial immediately following at Masonic Cemetery. Officiatig will be Fr. Narciso Rivera. In lieu of flowers, the family is graciously accepting donations to help with the funeral expenses, in the care of Maria Calderon Lopez. PDF Printable Version
