It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Eva Garcia Villegas, who passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the age of 57.

Born on May 18, 1968, in Las Cruces, NM, Eva will be remembered for her contagious laugh, her vibrant spirit, and the profound love she had for those closest to her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudy Villegas and Guadalupe Garcia Villegas; her brother, Rudy Villegas Jr.; her sisters, Rachel Villegas Salcido and Stella Villegas Padilla; her nephew Anthony Villegas and infant granddaughter Destiny Melendrez. 

Eva is survived by her children: Alma Gonzales, Destiny Lopez, Ezekiel Lopez, and Ryan Chavez, all of Las Cruces, and Jessica Gonzales Bagley of California. She is also survived by her brother, David Villegas (Valerie Medrano) of Las Cruces; and her sisters, Josie Hernandez (Larry) of Sun City, AZ, and Maria Villegas of Albuquerque, NM. She was a proud grandmother to seventeen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. 

She leaves a profound ache in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.

A Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel.
