Evelyn McIntyre

 Evelyn McIntyre passed away September 19, 2025, at La Posada Assisted living in Las Cruces, NM. She was born in Sallisaw, Oklahoma on June 16, 1937, to Lester and Myrtle Ball Hindman.

Evelyn attended the University of Texas, El Paso and New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was employed at Mountain Bell Telephone Company as Business Office Supervisor until 1978 when she joined her husband, Paul, at their State Farm Insurance Agency. She retired in 1997.

Evelyn and Paul were world travelers. She enjoyed helping others, reading, walking with her dogs, and playing golf. She was lucky enough to score a hole in one on June 17, 2003. She served in volunteer and leadership capacities including the March of Dimes, AARP, past president of the Business and Professional Women's Club, Pilot International, New Mexico State Ladies' Golf Association. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served with the worship team.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, and son, James "Dar'' Duke, her parents, brother Lee Hindman and sister Jean Browning. She is survived by her stepdaughter Paula McIntyre Leighton and nieces and nephews Angie and Danny Tiller of Amarillo, Texas, Sherrie and Steve Bryant of Denver City, Texas, a nephew Brad Hindman as well as her companion John Querry.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday September 26, 2025 at Getz Funeral Home located at 1410 Bowman in Las Cruces, NM. Funeral Services and interment will be conducted at Hillcrest Memorial Garden Cemetery.
