Feliciana Valenzuela Cooper, 72 of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. "Chana" as she was affectionate known was born January 16, 1935 in El Paso, Texas to Leonardo and Aurora Valenzuela. She was a homemaker as well as a floral designer. She is survived by four children, Chris Cooper of Mancado, MN; Joe Cooper of Las Cruces, NM; Pat Escalera and her husband Manuel of Las Cruces, NM and Susie Quinones of Las Cruces, NM. Also surviving Chana are six sisters, Carmen Roney; Gogi Angel and her husband Fred; Dora Sanchez; Lucy Hinojosa and her husband Humberto; Praxedis Sanchez, and Clara Moreno and her husband Elias all of Las Cruces, NM, and two brothers, Kito Valenzuela and companion Gloria Ruffini of T or C, NM, and Leo Valenzuela and his wife Irene of Las Cruces, NM. Seven grandchildren, Eddie Shannan, Elsie Cooper, Michael Cooper, Asley Snyder, Tiffany Escalera and companion Michael Montoya, Jessie Escalera and Danielle Quinones as well as four great grandchildren also survive "Chana". Besides her parents she was preceded in death by several nieces and nephews. At "Chana's" request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 13, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. PDF Printable Version
