Francisco Acosta (Frankie/Frank), beloved son, brother and father left this earth for bigger and better things in February 2025. He was born on July 13, 1953, to Henry and Josie Acosta. He grew up in Four Points amongst grandparents, brothers, sisters, and cousins. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He joined when he was only 16 years old and served for 20 years. His service took him to interesting places around the world. He would send pictures or postcards of those places to his family at home. He appreciated the simple things in life like cruising to natural surroundings - he was especially fond of the Radium Springs area. He enjoyed the company of good people like those at VWF Post 3242. A very special “thank you” goes out to members of VFW Post 3242 who he considered part of his family especially during his last days. He loved hanging out with you very much. The exemplary care and acceptance that you showed Frank is truly appreciated. Thank you for your service and for accepting Frank as part of your military family.
Frank is survived by his mother Josie Acosta, whom he helped to take care of for several years, brother Larry (Beatrice), sisters Minerva, Cathy (Gary), and Linda, sisters-in-law Dora and Elizabeth, daughter Christina, son Bobby and five grand children, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his father Henry Acosta Sr., brother U.S. Marine CPL Henry Acosta Jr., brother Danny Acosta, paternal grandparents Atenojenes and Juanita Acosta of Four Points, and maternal grandmother Gregoria Candelas of Mesilla, and a baby granddaughter Amanda.
Frankie's remains will be buried amongst fellow soldiers, including his brother Henry at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso TX on June 6, 2025, at 1pm.
