Gayla Mae (Siemers) Loman, 80, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away on December 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 16, 1945, in Bellingham, Washington, she was the daughter of Carl and Nancy Siemers. Gayla grew up in Evansville, Indiana, where she developed a lifelong passion for adventure always seeking new experiences with courage and enthusiasm.

In 1973, Gayla met Jerry Loman, a fellow single parent, and together they built a blended family of six children. Married for 45 years, Gayla and Jerry’s life together was filled with adventure, travel, and devotion to family. After moving across the country for Jerry’s career, they settled in Las Cruces in 1984, where they founded Loman Construction (later Garland-Loman Inc.).

Gayla and Jerry shared a passion for travel, exploring much of the US, the Caribbean, Alaska, the Mediterranean, and many countries across Europe, as well as retracing the Lewis & Clark Trail. Yet Gayla’s greatest joy was her family. Known for her joyful spirit, she created a welcoming home filled with traditions, games, her love of family gatherings, and especially her devotion to her faith. Gayla made everyone feel special and deeply loved.

Gayla leaves behind a legacy of love, and treasured memories that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Mike (Jennifer) Loman, David (Laura) Gibbs, David Loman, Casey (Kim) Gibbs: daughters, Angela (Kevin) Rivera, Michelle (David) O'Toole: 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren: sister Candy (Don) Miller, sister-in-law Alice Siemers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gayla was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, parents, brothers Raymond and David Siemers, and great-granddaughter Breelyn.

A private celebration of her life will be held in January.
