George L. Sears Jr.

George L. Sears Jr., 79 of Las Cruces, NM passed away peacefully on January 19, 2014 at his Las Cruces home. He was born in Cleveland, GA to George L. Sears, Sr. and Rosie (Sutton) Sears on June 18, 1934. He was retired from the printing department at Coats & Clark. He enjoyed woodworking and playing around with his computers. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson James Wong. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Retha Sears of Las Cruces, one son, Waylon Sears of Las Cruces, NM, three daughters; Wanda Wong and husband Ammon of Las Cruces, NM, Linda Bryant and partner Angie Ledford of Paducah, KY and Nancy Parker of Toccoa, GA, six grandchildren; Joshua Wong and wife Amanda Wong of Las Cruces, NM, Sara and Jeremy Parker of Toccoa, GA, Brittany and Damion Sears of Las Cruces, NM, and Makayla Ledford of Paducah, KY, as well as his granddaughter-in-law Megan Wong of Livermore, CA; 6 great grandchildren, sisters Beatrice Thomason of Elberton, GA, Ethelene Stroud and husband Alfred of Clarkesville, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
