It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glen Dale Denney, affectionately known as Papa, on August 10, 2025, at the age of 90. Glen was born on January 29, 1935, in Springfield, Colorado, and spent much of his life dedicated to his family and his work as a metrologist for NASA, retiring in 2000 after a distinguished career.

Glen's life was a tapestry of love and creativity. He was not only a skilled machinist but also a passionate gunsmith, leather craftsman, and silver and turquoise jewelry maker. In his later years, he delighted in creating beautiful beaded jewelry. Glen had a gift for making those around him feel special; it was not uncommon for him to leave a cashier, waitress, nurse, or doctor with a pair of his cherished beaded earrings as a token of appreciation.

As a devoted member of the Temple Baptist Church, he served as a Deacon and took immense joy in driving the church bus, nurturing the younger generations by ensuring they had the opportunity to attend Sunday School.

Glen is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife of 69 years, Cynthia Ann Denney (Smith), and their daughter Cyrena Dianne Rhyne (Denney), grandson Jonathen Wade Savage and siblings Darold Denney and Rozelia Kizer of Colorado. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Cynthia (Cyndi) Ruiz (John) of Las Cruces and Sandra Hansen of California, as well as his son, Glen (Jake) Denney (Cherie) of Missouri. Glen also leaves behind his cherished son-in-law, William Rhyne of Colorado, and an extensive and loving family including his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Glen is survived by his father Johnathan Denney and mother Cassie Denney, along with his siblings, Darold Denney and Rozella Kizer from Colorado. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Tina Ann Savage, Kevin Denney, Melissa Denney, Chris Denney (Michelle), Lisetta Ketchell, Jacob Rhyne, Erica Hansen, and Franklin (Chase) Hansen, as well as twelve great-grandchildren: Joseph Savage, Angelica Savage, Calen Abeyta, Isaah Abeyta, Nicholas Denney, Conner Denney, Leonidas Quintero, Hazel Denney, Everett Denney, Rylee Ketchell, Abigail Ketchell, and Dahntay Johnson.

In honor of Glen's remarkable life and the love he shared with all, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the home of Glen Denney, 133 Happy Trails South, Trails West.

Glen's legacy of kindness, creativity, and love will forever remain in our hearts. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
