It is with heavy hearts but comforted spirits that we share “Heaven’s Homecoming” of a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Neighbor and Friend. Guillermina, or better known as “Grandma Wilma or Guiṅa” entered into the Lord’s embrace on February 11, 2026 surrounded by those who loved her so much. Guillermina was born January 14, 1935, in El Velduque Valle de Zaragoza Chihuahua, Mexico. Guillermina leaves a special legacy impressed upon all of us, one of a true servant of the Lord. Some of her greatest accomplishment in life was serving as a loyal employee at Sara Lee Hosiery where she retired after 25 years and above all other things near to her heart, she faithfully devoted her retired years as a caregiver for grand and great grandchildren and family friends; there wasn’t anything she would leave unattended if there was a present need. From a very early age, Guillermina took the life of one that stands in the gap for loved ones, raising nephew and nieces in need, to even caring for her parents through their passing. This 91-year-old legacy holds countless memories of going the extra mile, offering anything she had to those who were in need, even down to her beautiful smile and encouraging sense of humor. Outside of these beautiful character traits, she loved to prepare flower arrangements, beautify her property with a gift of gardening, and prepare delicious food for the family. Grandma Wilma is survived by her brother Chuy Valles of El Paso Tx, Beloved Daughter Sandra Leyva Sanchez, whom has faithfully cared for her mother for many years, Grandson Michael (Angel), Granddaughter’s Sandra Annette, Michelle (Orlando), and Sarah (Nick), Great Grandchildren Oralea, Jaycub, Makaila, Mikie, and Jayliana, plus countless loved ones that she has impacted over all these years. Guillermina is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Valles Jordan and Nazaria Chavira Arras, her brothers Antonio, Rodrigo, Donicio, and Mario, and her sister Alicia Valles. A service is scheduled to celebrate Guillermina’s life on Saturday March 7th, 2026, at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church on 1178 N Mesquite St, with a Rosary at 10:30am and a Service to follow at 11:00am.
“Guillermina’s family would like to share much gratitude, many thanks and blessings, for those who assisted in the last years up until the final moments of Grandma’s life. The Lord knows the angels to send at the perfect time, to come and care for us, at our most vulnerable state. We want to thank Amber care staff especially her caregivers Luz, Jasmin, Yesenia, and Amanda for being so delicate, thorough, and loving. Along with these special ones, we want to thank the angels of Mesilla Valley Hospice for their intentional and compassionate care, not only for Grandma but for the whole family.”
“Oh, how we love you Grandma! Though you are not here with us anymore, we are not a people without hope, we know that you are praying over us and we will be together with you when Jesus says its time. Thank you for imparting to us the greatest gift, showing us what it is to live a selfless life, giving one’s life for one’s friend.”
