In Loving Memory of
Jacinta “Chinta” Vasquez Valenzuela
May 5, 1922 – November 3, 2025
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt, Jacinta “Chinta” Vasquez Valenzuela, age 103, of Mesquite, New Mexico, entered eternal rest on Monday, November 3, 2025, surrounded by love and family.
Jacinta was born on May 5, 1922, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Anastacio and Urbana Vasquez. She grew up in Carlsbad, where she attended school and later became a devoted homemaker. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family. She was known for her warm heart, her steady faith, and her unforgettable red enchiladas, no family gathering was complete without them.
“Chinta,” as everyone affectionately called her, lived her life with kindness, humility, and love. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Mesquite, where she volunteered faithfully at the annual fiesta and prayed deeply for her family and friends. Her gentle spirit and compassion will forever be remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
Jacinta is survived by her daughters Bertha Roberts (Jon) of Mesquite and Virginia Espinoza (Gabriel) of Las Cruces; her sons Joe Valenzuela (Bertha Alicia) of Mesquite and Hector Valenzuela (Glynis) of Rio Rancho. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews who will carry her love with them always.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose S. Valenzuela; her parents, Anastacio and Urbana Vasquez; her sisters, Carmen Paz and Maria Vasquez; and her brothers, Carlos, Lupe, and Manuel Vasquez.
Jacinta lived a full and beautiful life, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in every meal shared, every laugh remembered, and every prayer whispered in her honor.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Mesquite, New Mexico. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 14, 2025, followed by the Rosary and Mass, with burial to follow at Missionary Ridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Ryan Quintana, Michael Jon Roberts, Keith Roberts, Joey Valenzuela, Jamie Valenzuela, and Dominic Valenzuela. Honorary Pallbearer: Kevin Roberts.
