Janice Bailey Monsimer, 60, entered eternal life on Friday, December 7, 2012, when she passed away unexpectedly at the family home. She was born into the Bailey family of Crowder, Mississippi, and grew up in that small Southern community. She attended the University of Mississippi at Oxford, and went on to pursue a career as a paralegal. She was employed by several law firms and enjoyed her professional work. Most recently, she assisted the Mary Rosner Law Office and District Judge Lisa Schultz. She and her husband, Jim, enjoyed many travel adventures throughout the United States and Europe. She was an avid reader and lover of good music and beautiful flowers. After retirement, she joined the Red Hat Society where she was happy to meet many new and interesting friends. Janice will be greatly missed by her host of friends who will remember her as a good-hearted person and a dear friend to all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, James Henry (Jim) Monsimer of Las Cruces, daughter Amanda B. Bailey of Albuquerque, stepson James Donham "J.D." Monsimer of Las Cruces, brother-in-law Clement William (Bill) Monsimer II and his wife Hannah Edahl Monsimer of Las Cruces, and special family friends Tim and Laura Smith of Las Cruces. She will be greatly missed by her canine kids, Bully and Pepper. . She is predeceased by her parents, most recently her mother, Elois Bailey of Mississippi. The family thanks Dr. William Baker for his kind house call to the family home on this difficult day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support breast cancer research at Susan G. Komen for the Cure
